Carlos Svenson hails from Galve, Sweden. He learned horseback riding and acrobatics from his parents, Karl and Anna Greta Svenson, Sweden’s premier equestrians, who performed their comic pas-de-deux on horseback in all the greatest circuses of Europe. At age 12, Carlos began performing with his parents in the ring and developed his own reputation as an ace rider, performer and animal trainer. When his parents retired, Carlos carried on the family tradition and continued the act. Carlos performed his amazing and often hilarious equestrian acts in all the premier circuses in Europe, as well as on stage, in nightclubs and television. He made his U.S. debut at the Big Apple Circus in Ballerinas, Horses and Clowns: The Golden Age (1990). Carlos has appeared with all major U.S. circuses, including Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. Carlos has always trained his own horses, as well as camels, ostriches and most recently his new goat act. He has even dreamt of doing a moose act which he hopes to premiere on Circus Flora.
