Johnny Peers began his circus career at the age of 16 as a concessionaire with his father at Ringling Brothers. He idolized Lou Jacobs and spent years watching his dog always get the better of him. In 1971, Johnny entered the Ringling Clown College with a dream of being a clown with his own troupe of dogs. He rescued his first pup from the Humane Society in Brewster, N.Y. and named him Freckles. Each dog in his menagerie has been rescued from a pet shelter. With love, devotion and affection he has worked to build one of the countries favorite comedy dog acts. The New York Times called Peers “…a truly funny slapstick dog act.” Johnny and his dogs have toured with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and the Big Apple Circus, as well as performed with the 1998 Monte Carlo Festival, Disneyland, Busch Gardens, Circo Tihany, and at the Bush White House. Peers and his dogs’ TV credits include “Late Night with David Letterman,” “Regis and Kathy Lee” and “Seinfeld.” Johnny returns to Circus Flora for the first time in six years!
