General Manager
Holly Harris brings more than 25 years of arts management, funding and production experience to the ring. She first began at the Baltimore International Theatre Festival, finding her passion in international communication through performance. As the Big Apple Circus was closing the festival, Harris was packing her bags to accompany the circus as company manager for its first Lincoln Center performance. Combining experience from touring companies, presenters and funding institutions, her early credits include: Soon 3 Theatre of San Francisco; Baltimore Theatre Project; Gateway Theatre; Theatre Communications of the Bay Area; Maryland State Council on the Arts; Mid Atlantic Arts Consortium (then one of seven regional arts organizations); and The International Theatre Institute Theatre of Nations Festival. In 1986, she moved to England to manage Kaboodle Theatre of London and traversed Europe exploring the arts and management styles. Harris returned to the states in 1988 to become the director of performing arts at the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, managing more than a million dollars in arts funding, building workshops and task forces on touring and funding in the U.S. and acting as NEA award panelist. In 1993, she came home to the circus where she has been general manager with Circus Flora ever since.
