Katherine Nevidonski

Katherine Nevidonski is a sixth-generation circus performer who was immersed in the circus business the day she was born.  Her father, Paul Binder, founded The Big Apple Circus and her mother, Katja Schumann, is a fifth-generation equestrienne from a world-renowned Danish circus family.  Katherine's circus ring debut came at age five, riding alongside her mother.  As a company member of the Big Apple Circus for 13 years, she performed many roles including equestrian, elephant rider, handstand artist, acrobat, and dancer.  In more recent years, she and her husband Alexandre Sasha Nevidonski have performed several aerial ballet acts, which often incorporate their equine partners.  Nevidonski took a brief departure from circus life to study and graduate from Barnard College of Columbia University in Manhattan with a degree in Psychology
